The map provided here is based on the postcode of the venue.
Royal mail are very good at allocating postcodes to buildings
but much less good at lakes and rivers. Therefore where a
venue does not really have a postcode I have tried to find a
postcode that is as close as possible to the venue. This might
be that of a nearby hotel or even the village post office. You
should therefore always ensure you have proper directions
for the last half-mile or so to the venue.

Fished here over 2 days 15-16/10/09 with contrasting weather conditions. Gin-clear water demanded careful fly presentation. Damsels on a floater proved successful for me, but other methods inc. Cats Whisker on a sinker worked equally well for others and wading from N. or W. banks can be productive. 5lb + fish regularly caught. Try not to be distracted by the scenery or pairs of yellow wagtails...Will definitely be back next Spring

I paid   :  £11.00 for 2 fish ticket
Stayed :  6 hrs each day
Caught :  2 x Rainbows each day @ 2.5lb ea
Best fly:  Damsels
Tactics :  Floating with sink tip

As close to wild fishing as you can get without a 7 day camel trek into the wilderness. Facilities are totally adequate and well maintained (including the Thunderbox) and plenty of info posted in the Honesty Box. Step and cast will see you all the way around in time for lunch. Healthy grown on rainbows but looking at the returns book no sign of brownies in a long time. All the same, a lovely venue.

I paid   :  £11 (2 fish bag)
Stayed :  5 hours
Caught :  Rainbow
Best fly:  Wet. Bushy and Black.
Tactics :  Keep moving.

Outstanding!

Permits from hut with box to leave slips. Nice manageable sized water from bank. Better from boat. Down side is that website no longer seems to be up and running so unless you know the number to ring to check on the fishing your stuffed. Other downside is that you cant book a boat by telephone so unless you live local or are passing beforehand your bankfishing only, unless your lucky on the day to get a free boat. Nice quiet setting though.
